      At the center is the triquetrum.  It is formed by three intersecting circles, which represents the Trinity.  This symbol is also found in our school logo.  The intact shield symbolizes the Unity of God.  The three sections of the shield represent the three ways that God reveals Himself to mankind, through:

1.  His creation, as revealed by His handywork ("The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals KNOWLEDGE.") Psalm 19:1-2);

2.  His Son, the victorious Lamb, as revealed in His Word ("And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us UNDERSTANDING, in order that we might know Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.") 1John 5:20); and
|
|   |
|
3.  His Spirit, as revealed in hearts which desire to obey Him ("The fear of the Lord is the beginning of WISDOM, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.") Proverbs 9:10).

The nine-pointed star represents the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control).

      As we continue to implement the Classical and Christian approach to education, the three parts of the shield are also seen to represent the three aspects of classical learning known as theTrivium - grammar (knowledge), logic (understanding), and rhetoric (wisdom).   Our school motto, "Educating for Eternity," is written in its Latin equivalent at the bottom of the shield. |
