Laurel Christian School is fortunate to have Jonathan Carr as fencing instructor.
Mr. Carr is a certifide fencing instructor with the United States Fencing Association. He has been teaching fencing classes at LCS since 1999. He has been fencing for over 19 years and has spent tme training for coaching at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Fencing

LAST YEAR:August 2002 - LCS NEWS: At the Regional Youth Circuit in Birmingham in April, LCS Fencers posted the following results: (initials used) Josh M. (Silver Medal, Youth 10 Boys), Thomas M. (Bronze Medal, Youth 10 Boys); Andrew M. (Silver Medal, Youth 12 Overall); and Will M. placed 14th, Youth 14 Overall.
At the State Games of Mississippi held in Meridian in June, LCS fencers brought home five medals: Johnson M., (Silver Medal, Youth 10); Thomas M. (Bronze Medal, Youth 10); Andrew M. (Gold Medal, Youth 12); Will M. (Bronze Medal, Youth 14); and Josh M. (Bronze Medal, Cadet).
Josh M. also competed in the Louisiana Divisional Championships, where he finished 6th; the Cresent City Open, where he finished in the top third; and the Junior Olympics, where he finished in the top half of his age group.
