LITTER CHAT Our next two litters should both be born in April 98 with Big Foots first, bred to a Tyson daughter. Next will be the Oakie daughter bred to Robinsons Big Jake. We have had several litters of this combination and maybe its pure luck but this breeding clicks. That is to say that all lines crossed with each other sometimes don't work to well, not exactly what you want. This breeding is EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. They are big, structurely correct, heavily muscled with beautiful heads and very athletic. Big Foot hasn't been bred enough to know about him because we really don't have any females to breed him to that are not his sisters. We are in the process of curing this problem by obtaining females like the Tyson daughter for him. Big Foot is one of the largest American Bulldogs in the world today. He is WITHOUT ANY DOUBT the largest PREDOMINANTLY standard bred American Bulldog in the world. At eight months and one day he had a vet certified weight of 115 lbs. and at exactly 12 months was 131 lbs. He is about 25 months now and hasnt been weighed since one year. As you can see from the above vet certified weights one year later he should have no problem going 140 to 150 pounds. I can hear the muttering out there already. "He can't walk and certainly can't run being that big" WRONG!!! He is EXTREMELY FAST AND QUICK, faster and quicker than many smaller dogs. The next thing they are muttering about is that he is just a porch dog and not a real bulldog. WRONG AGAIN!!! When only 8 or 9 months old he began to whip every grown male on the place including a couple of standard grown males that I thought were the worlds toughest. There is always an argument going on as to what constitutes the tough bulldog. Hog catching, schutzhund training, man work etc. are some of the arguable points. But don't you suppose that when two dogs go at each other the toughest is going to win. Let's hope that no one ever fights his dog on purpose but everyone out there that has more than one stud dog and been at it long enough has experienced the fights. Don't misunderstand me, I am not advocating that all american bulldogs be this big, because I am not. I am advocating that many American bulldogs out there need some size and Big Foot is one of the ways to get it. AKA big foot (Robinsons King Kong) is 5/8 Standard and 3/8 Johnson with Johnson size and looks. He is out of a scott bitch of my own breeding and Oakie. Sadly the bitch was run over when Big Foot was only 10 weeks old. Oakie is 3/4 johnson and 1/4 standard. His sire was Gator Red, the heavy weight pulling champ of the world, who is 1/2 Standard and 1/2 Johnson and out of rip-n-woody. His dam is Peeler's Delta, 100% Johnson who produced Peeler's Bear, the winningest american bulldog, and is a litter mate to Peeler's Georgia. Oakie's weight goes from 125 to 130 lbs. Our third sire is Robinsons Big Jake (named after John Wayne) who isn't much over two years and weighs about 125 lbs. He is still growing some. He is a predominantly white dog whereas Oakie is brindle and white and Big Foot is red and white. Big Jake is 15/16 Johnson, 1/16 Standard. As you can see from the sires colors we can come up with just about any color you want. The combination of Jake bred to Oakie's daughters gives us the finest pups we have ever raised. Besides this combination just clicking there is a little line breeding going on as Big Jakes grandmother and Oakies mother were litter mates, both 100% johnson. The resulting pups are 5/8 johnson and 3/8 standard. The percentages don't mean very much to me because I am now selecting the types of animals that have the traits and looks that I want. As an example these pups are 5/8 Johnson and Big Foot is 5/8 standard. Both are the type that I want. Feel free to contact me by phone or email if you'd like to know more about our line. |
